JE DESIGN, previously well known for its modifications of models from the VW Group, is now including another brand in its tuning range. THE sports car brand of all time: Porsche. Thanks to its experience with upmarket SUVs such as the VW Touareg and the Audi Q7, it was an easy step for JE DESIGN to provide the Porsche Cayenne with a new outfit and give it a more original appearance.

Muscular, sporty styling kit

The JE DESIGN styling program for the Porsche Cayenne (957 model) comprises at the front end a spoiler that gives the SUV a significantly more muscular look, with a centre segment that is particularly effective when its bottom section is painted in a different color. The JE DESIGN component is a perfect fit, and integrates ideally into the rest of the design. It also includes LED daytime running lights, which not only enhance the looks of the vehicle but also crucially improve safety. Because "seeing and being seen" prevents accidents. Headlight masks ensure that the headlights no longer stand out with such dominance above the cooling air inlets. By means of this relatively minor design stratagem, JE DESIGN manages to bring additional sporty flair to the front aspect, since the front end also now seems lower.

Once you start a job, you have to finish it. Essential features for the harmonious look include the side sills, conveying an impression of "more meat on the ribs" and giving more character to the Cayennes profile.

And of course a facelifted Porsche Cayenne also needs a suitably elegant conclusion. This is provided by JE DESIGN in the form of an extended rear apron with diffuser styling, so that the individualized appearance of the Cayenne's rear is also more appealing. As in the case of the original apron, the JE DESIGN component also has room on the left and right for the exhaust tailpipes. As a replacement for these, JE DESIGN also offers its own dual oval tailpipes made of stainless steel, which fit perfectly into the apertures.

JE DESIGN offers the parts as complete styling kit (tailpipes separately). In a second step, JE DESIGN offers the kit including LED entry lights, each with five LED light units fitted in the right and left-hand door sills, plus a six-light LED unit mounted on the extended rear apron.

There was absolutely no doubt in the mind of Professor Bodo Buschmann, President of Mercedes customization specialist BRABUS, “Even in the face of the extreme rework that characterizes the vehicles at SEMA, we were going to stick firmly to our principles and go for a more practicable solution. Our GLKWidestar grabs attention with its stunning appearance, while at the same time, offering a high degree of everyday usability in all conditions.” And thus, it is fair to say that, among the four tuning competitors, the GLKWidestar represents the “European” solution. The SUV was conceived by development engineers on the basis of automotive pragmatism that stands by classic Mercedes-Benz characteristics. The Widestar is an interpretation of the GLKas an on-road machine with corner-hugging agility that also pays tribute to the high levels of refinement associated with Mercedes vehicles.

That doesn’t mean that the BRABUS GLK is merely a “good boy” among the SEMA stars. Far from it - one look is all it takes to capture the muscular stance of the Widestar bodyshell, which has been broadened by 50mm, incorporating beautifully integrated flared wheel arches that carry through to the front of the vehicle with distinctive air intake fins. Customised front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights, side skirts, a roof spoiler with LED lights (position lights) and all-new LED lighting units above the front windshield complete the reworked bodyshell. A custom paint process adds an unparalleled depth of lustre to the black paint finish. “It was an interesting challenge,” comments Ulrich Gauffrés, Head of Research and Development at BRABUS, “to bring even more fascination to the already distinctive GLK. Our Widestar underscores the characteristic edge of the original GLK-Class design.”

 The 2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost will bring Ford's 355 HP twin-turbocharged V6 engine to the Ford Flex, providing V8-like power for those who want it in their seven-passenger crossover.
On the surface there's little in the way of aesthetic changes to the boxy sexy design of the 2010 Ford Flex, but the addition of Ford's much ballyhooed 3.5-Liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 below the surface offers a compelling reason for buyers in the market to give the Flex a second look. The new Flex, in EcoBoost trim, will offer the new engine with the same estimated 355 HP and 350 lb-ft of torque as found in the 2010 Ford Taurus, with which it also shares a platform.
The addition of two turbochargers and direct fuel injection (the two powers which unite to form EcoBoost) brings oomph to the Flex without the usual fuel consumption penalty. The EcoBoost-powered Flex, available only in AWD, will achieve 22 MPG highway and 18 MPG combined, which compares well to the 22 MPG highway and 16 MPG city performance of the naturally aspirated V6. Though the new Flex will only be mated to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission we suspect there isn't much clamoring for a third pedal in this segment.
The Flex will also come with Ford's upgraded SYNC and navigation systems for those wanting to run the options up on their crossover. No word yet on the premium you'll have to pay to get into a Flex with EcoBoost.

Strongest BMW SUV: The G-POWER X5 TYPHOON

G-POWER TYPHOON Based on BMW X5 – Wide, Powerful and Fast 525-hp Compressor V8 Engine and 275-km/h Top Speed – G-POWER Builds the Most Powerful BMW SUV

The G-POWER TYPHOON has arrived! With its breathtaking wide-stance styling, its 525-hp / 386-kW G-POWER SK III eight-cylinder supercharged engine and a top speed of 275 km/h the SUV based on the BMW X5 (E70) sets new standards in its class.

Muscular fender flares and strikingly styled aprons and spoilers front and back, all designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, dominate the appearance of the G-POWER TYPHOON. The body conversion components and the tools to make them were developed by the G-POWER designers using the latest CAD technologies. The entire base car was scanned in-house using a 3D scanner. The TYPHOON components are manufactured in OEM quality from PUR-R-Rim plastics.

The curved G-POWER fender flares on front and rear axle come complete with matching fender liners and add seven centimeters to the width of the X5. They create the space necessary for extra-wide wheels and tires. The largest version features G-POWER Silverstone Forged Edition forged wheels in size 11Jx23 in front and in size 12Jx23 on the rear axle. These wheels were custom-developed for the TYPHOON. High-performance tires in size 315/25 ZR 23 front and back from development partner Michelin provide optimal traction and sporty handling.

The G-POWER TYPHOON front apron dominates the face of the exclusive SUV aided by the wider fenders. Large air ducts not only improve the vehicle’s passing clout, they also optimize cooling of engine and front brakes. Its sophisticated shape also reduces aerodynamic lift on the front axle. Like its counterpart in the front the TYPHOON rear apron was designed to replace the production bumper in its entirety.

The rear appearance is characterized by the two tailpipes of the stainless-steel G-POWER sport rear muffler, each measuring 114 mm in diameter, and by the rear diffuser. In combination with the rear spoiler attached to the liftgate the diffuser reduces lift on the rear axle. The rear spoiler also stretches the vehicle’s roofline visually. The TYPHOON rocker panels create an aerodynamically favorable transition between front and rear fender flares. They also feature five blue LED lights each, integrated into their undersides, which are activated by the vehicle’s keyless fob or by pulling on a door handle. They illuminate the ground on either side of the vehicle. The tops of the rocker panels feature integrated stainless-steel inserts with blue illuminated G-POWER logo. Another example for the sophistication of the G-POWER TYPHOON version for the BMW X5 is the four-piece underbody paneling.

The Muron body kit is built of carbon fiber.
